The Biology Students’ Research Society (BSRS) is a non-profit student organization with a 30-year tradition in educational research. Over the years, BSRS has implemented a wide range of student-led field studies, as well as educational and awareness raising activities aimed at increasing knowledge and appreciation of the rich diversity of species and ecosystems in North Macedonia. The society has also served as a starting point for many young researchers who later pursued academic and professional careers in biology and ecology, while actively encouraging its members to present and publish the data collected through field activities, thereby strengthening their research capacities and academic competencies.
Building on these activities, BSRS is organizing the 5th Student Symposium, which will take place on 17th October 2026 in Struga, as part of the 7th Congress of Ecologists of the Republic of Macedonia with international participation.
The Symposium invites student presentations addressing biological diversity of Macedonia and the wider region.
